The history of de Sede has its origins in a small but fine saddlery business in Klingnau, Switzerland. The craftsmen of this manufactory have always done everything they can to process leather into seating furniture in the best quality form. They used their years of experience and all their care to create a unique quality for handmade leather furniture.

In 1965, the family business was converted into a public limited company, de Sede AG, but the original credo was consistently lived up.

From this point on, the company developed rapidly: top designers of international stature were involved in the creation of the seating furniture and further production facilities were opened, and an international distribution network was established. Sophisticated designs, skilfully implemented with traditional and precise Swiss craftsmanship, quickly earned the brand a worldwide reputation.

Today, de Sede AG presents itself as a leading manufacturer of exclusive leather furniture. What was once a small craft business has grown into a company that employs over 110 people and sells furniture in over 69 countries – including the USA, Russia and the Arab world or the emerging markets of China and Brazil.
