1.      City Palace

2.      Monsoon Palace

It is a treat! The scenic beauty from the palace on the hills is beyond parallel. It was constructed to see the movement of clouds during the rainy season, and hence the name. If you are a Bond fan, to your surprise, the Monsoon Palace had featured in Octopussy (1983) as the home in exile of Kamal Khan.

3.      Lakes

The city of Udaipur has artificial lakes and royal residences overlooking the same. It has 5 major lakes, out of which lake Pichola and Fatehsagar lake are a must visit. These lakes have boating facilities that take you for a city tour like none other. After all, it is the Venice of India.

4.      Lake-side Restaurants

On either side of lake Pichola are restaurants and cafes serving delicious Rajasthani food with traditional, welcoming and warm ambience, overlooking the lake. A perfect place to relax after a long day of sight-seeing and shopping. Adjacent to the first layer of eateries around the lake, there is the major market. Street shopping in the local market with the goods hanging around and bargaining and the smell of leather makes the whole experience memorable.

5.      Saheliyon ki Bari

This is a major garden of the city with a high influx of tourists. It transports you back in time with chhattars (kiosk with the overhead covering in the shape that resembles umbrella), fountains, water bodies and marble figurines. It also has a museum that holds household items of the royals on display.

Furthermore, there are many places such as Shilpgram, Jagdish temple, Bagore ki Haveli, etc. to visit on an elaborate trip to Udaipur.
